About The Ride

This is a week long adventure bike ride covering more then 1,250 miles (2000km). The ride starts in Las Vegas, Nevada and makes a big loop around 4 states and then returns to Las Vegas. The ride includes a mix of scenic roads and some dirt roads. There are route options for those that would like more challenging options. This is an intermediate level ride with both hard and easy options. This is not a good ride for beginners. Riders will break into small ride groups of 4 or less riders of similar skill level and interest. The ride includes a support truck. Riders may put a small luggage item (suitcase, carry on style) into the support truck. The truck will "loosely follow" the riders on the easy route option and in the event of bike issues, it will be used for assistance. Each evening the ride will take us to a new hotel along the way. Riders will be staying in these hotels and sharing rooms with the other riders (rooms are double occupancy). Roommates are randomly assigned and rotated each evening. Riders will be eating all their meals in restaurants along the way with the exception of a couple of lunches which will be snacks along the trail.

This is an excellent route designed to allow riders to discover the Grand Canyon, the spectacular rock formations of Utah, the incredible remoteness of Nevada and it's Extraterrestrial highway and the springtime beauty of Death Valley National Park. This is an opportunity to meet new foreign friends and share an adventure to remember for life.

Do not sign up for this ride unless you are serious about coming. I take your signup very seriously and start planning for you the minute you sign up. If you need to cancel up to one month prior to the ride start date I will give you a full refund but I will keep $100 to cover the planning work. Sorry but I make non refundable commitments myself so it gets hard for me. "I hate this world of non refundable deals myself." In the case of finding a replacement rider, I will gladly give you the full refund minus the $100 to cover the planning work. In the event of ride cancellation, you will be given a full refund.

FAQ's

Q:What will the weather be like this time of year?

A: In April, the weather is most often nice, could be a little cold in the morning and in the mountains. But sometimes there can be rain. Wet and muddy routes can force us to change our course. Come prepared with extra gear for cold and wet.

Q: Would this be a good ride for new riders?

A: No, this ride is for intermediate and experienced riders only. The riding has easy route choices and tough route options. Each evening we will study the following day's choices. You will find lots of supportive people at the ride.

Q: What bikes are right for this ride?

A: Bikes including and in between the Suzuki VStrom and the KTM990 all can do well by choosing the easy or hard route options.

Q; What do I do if I don't have a Garmin gps?

A: Buy one, you need it, we will show you how to use it. You can get a great one for under $200 bucks. ( See gpsKevin's gps recommendations)

Q: Is the riding really on my own?

A: Yes, but almost everyone hooks up and rides with a friend or a new friend or me.
