Take the Gamble to explore the remote Mojave Desert

A Self Guided 2 day Dual Sport Ride

About the ride:

This is an awesome 2 day desert ride starting in Barstow CA and going through the Mojave desert and mountains to the Colorado River in Laughlin NV.  We will spend the night at Harrah's Casino and on Sunday morning we ride back along the Famous Mojave Trail and down into Ludlow CA and then back into Barstow. The ride covers 410 miles for the weekend so this ride is recommended only for intermediate or advanced riders with a lot of desert experience. The ride does have options for easier and harder routes. Riders should come prepared to repair their bikes and tires on the trail if necessary.  There will be a support truck to carry your overnight gear to the hotel and back.

Notes:  I suggest you plan and order early.  Normally I ship within a week.  But sometimes I run out and it can take me several weeks to get new cards and maps.  And sometimes I am out riding and building new adventures so that can be hard too. I list the Option for 2 SD cards because many riders like to carry a backup card or a cheap backup GPS in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

OK since many of you might like to study more detail about the ride, below are the ride maps.

I put these ride maps on the web page because I know a few of you love looking at the ride detail and dreaming about the ride.  At first glance these maps do not look so impressive, but they are way cool.  If you click the Earth or Satellite tab and start zooming in, you can see the ride in incredible detail.  I have spent a ton of hours sorting through the details of the ride for each day, so for those of you that enjoy this sort of thing, well enjoy!
